Women's Group Schedule
The Brighton and Hove Muslim Forum website, www.bhmf.org.uk is now ranked number one in Google for the search "Brighton Muslim", out of 102,000 webpages containing these words. It is also ranked sixth for the search "Brighton Islam". The website has been linked to from numerous sites including that of blogger Tom Hume who described the website as a "nice example of a community weblog". Such links have helped to boost the site's ratings.
Forum weblogger Daoud Clarke said, "this is a tribute to the site, which is updated quite frequently, looks nice, loads quickly and is entirely unique in its subject matter. This is the first time I'm aware of that a local Muslim community in Britain has made itself public in this fashion, and it's clearly been successful. I hope it is the beginning of a blossoming relationship between Muslim organisations and the internet community."
BHMF Chair Sabri ben-Ameur was very impressed with the news and urged that it be posted on the website immediately.

Brighton and Hove Muslim Women's Group is set up to encourage all women in the local area to get together, build up friendship with each other and understand Islam as a way of life.
All sisters are welcome to help in organising with our activities which include:
- Weekly gatherings at Al-Medina mosque
- Social gatherings, i.e. Eid parties, Ramadan iftar, coffee mornings, and picnics
- The first Muslim school in Brighton and Hove at BHASVIC school.
An activities programme will be published every six weeks including a timetable of events and gatherings; this will be displayed at the women's section in al-Medina mosque and Dyke Road mosque.
This is a voluntary group open to all and we rely on each other to cover our expenses.
Weekly gatherings are on Wednesdays at Al-Medina mosque, from 10am to 12pm.
-16th February: No halaqa due to half term
- 23rd February: halaqah on "The Prophet's Companions"
May Allah accept and reward our efforts and sincere intentions.
BHMF and BHMWG (Brighton & Hove Muslim Women's Group) held an Eid party on Friday 28th of January. The venue was Westows, which was chosen because of it's popularity with the children at the last Eid party.
People coming to the party were asked to bring-a-dish. The party was presented with a mouth-watering array of samosas, couscous, different flavoured rices, pastries, and cakes representing food from across the Muslim world.
Over 200 people joined in the party, and a great time was had by all.
