A first Islamic Craft Fair for Brighton & Hove.

On Sunday 10th July the Brighton & Hove Muslim Forum held the first
ever Islamic crafts fair at the Brighton Marina. Hundreds of
Community members, local residence and traders and people as far as
the West Midlands attended. The Muslim community was confident that
even though this event took place a few days after the horrific events
in London on Thursday, people still attend by car & by public
transport. The Chair of the Brighton & Hove Muslim Forum, Sabri Ben
Ameur stated that "Although this was our first crafts fair, I assure
you that this will not be our last. This event demonstrates how
community members can create an eventful day for our diverse
community, today we have people from all religions and no religion,
this is a great family day out at the Marina". The event was also
broadcasted by Islamic Channel who's CEO also attended in support of
the event. BHMF would like to thank all the organisers, participants
and the Brighton Police.

Press Release

We have received today's terrible news from the police with anguish, shock and horror. It appears that three youths have been involved in last week's horrific bombings against innocent people.
A member of the Muslim Community, whose relative was involved in one of the explosions, said “that those who did this must be caught and all communities have a duty to work with the authorities to make sure this happens. The Muslim Community should not suffer for the actions of these sick people, as these actions have no place in any society”
We now look to our shared values and common humanity to face the traumas of today and the challenge ahead.
